As a leading player in technology and innovation, we are in the process of creating a new and groundbreaking innovation environment in agricultural technology. To lead this ambitious initiative, we have recruited former Smart City director Gunnar Crawford, who brings solid experience and expertise. With this strategic decision, Nordic Edge opens up significant growth opportunities in the region and strengthens its reputation as a center for technological development and innovation.

“I am extremely pleased to have Gunnar join our team. We see that agricultural technology represents significant growth potential in the region, and we are now launching an exciting and proactive initiative in this area. We have received very positive feedback from the municipalities in Jæren, academia, and cluster members, and we believe this will be a valuable contribution to the necessary regional transformation,” says Terje Eide, CEO of Nordic Edge.

Gunnar Crawford has relevant experience as the former Smart City director in Stavanger municipality, a digital business developer for Desert Control, and a senior business developer in the innovation team at Lyse. Through his diverse background, qualities, and values, we see him as the right person to lead this important initiative.

“It feels like coming home! As the leader of the Smart City, I collaborated extensively with Nordic Edge and the public support system for business development. Over the past year, I have been working globally on agritech through the startup company Desert Control. Now, this is a natural next step where I will lead the work on business development and network building in smart agriculture and agricultural technology (agritech). It still involves combining innovation and technology with effective collaboration for the benefit of businesses and the planet,” explains Gunnar Crawford.

The initiative will be fully launched over the summer. We look forward to leading a new innovation collaboration and welcome interested companies to get in touch.
