How the How to enter programme works
The webinar is part of our How to enter UK programme. Here is an outline of the full programme.
21 October
Insights into the market, how to establish and operate a business in the UK, and how to tailor your value proposition to British decision-makers.
October to December
Together with British partners, we identify what the delegation needs so that the events and visits are relevant.
2 December
Industry networking at the UK Agri-Tech Centre, a tour of Harper Adams University and the Nordic Business Mixer in Birmingham in the evening.
3 December
Visits to test farms or innovation organisations, company visits and a debrief where each company develops its action plan.
After the visit
Nordic Edge sends out a market report based on the meetings and what we learned.
Part of How to enter: UK – Agritech
The webinar kicks off our UK programme. On 2–3 December, a Nordic Edge delegation travels to the Midlands. We join the UK Agri-Tech Centre’s Christmas networking event, where you can pitch your company.
We tour Harper Adams University and the National Centre for Precision Farming, and host a Nordic Business Mixer in Birmingham. Day two is dedicated to site and company visits, and each participant receives an individual action plan.
Practical information
Useful information when planning your participation:
Price
Small and medium-sized enterprises pay NOK 15,000 to participate.
The total market price is NOK 60,000, but the programme is subsidised through Innovation Norway’s cluster programme.
What you arrange yourself
Flights, accommodation and travel costs are covered by each participant.
Nordic Edge plans the visit with local partners and ensures that it delivers value based on the delegation’s needs.
Number of places
The programme is designed for 8–10 companies.
Places on the visit are limited to ensure high relevance for participants. Each company can bring multiple representatives. The price remains the same.
Frequently asked questions
We have collected some frequently asked questions. If you have any other questions, please contact us. You will find our contact details below.
I’m not sure whether to join. Can I attend just the webinar?
Yes. If you are unsure whether the UK and this delegation programme are right for you, you can join the webinar on 21 October and decide afterwards.
Do I need to be a Nordic Edge member?
No, the programme is open to everyone, but members will be prioritised if it fills up.
Does Nordic Edge book meetings for us?
The programme is built around shared activities: industry networking, a networking evening and company visits. The whole delegation meets relevant British organisations and starts conversations there. Tell us who you would most like to meet, and we will take this into account when planning.
How much time should I set aside?
A one-hour online meeting on 21 October, a couple of hours of preparation and two days in the Midlands.
We don’t have any customers in the UK yet. Is it too early?
No. The programme is designed for companies considering the UK as their next market. The webinar on 21 October gives you insights into how the market works before you decide.
What should we prepare before the visit?
A short description of your solution, who you are, the types of organisations you want to meet and a presentation in English. Nordic Edge will compile a digital introduction to all the companies, which our local partners will use to recruit relevant people for our events.
Partners
The programme is being developed jointly by Nordic Edge, UK Agri-Tech Centre and AgriFoodTech Norway.
