How to enter: United Kingdom - Agritech
Do you want to sell to British agriculture? Join a Norwegian delegation to the UK with Nordic Edge. Together with British partners, we identify what you need and curate a programme tailored to your needs. You return home with contacts and a plan for the market.
What you get
- Opportunities to meet the right people. Industry networking at the UK Agri-Tech Centre, the Nordic Business Mixer and company visits are designed to help you start conversations with relevant British organisations.
- Warm introductions: We connect you directly with potential partners, distributors and industry organisations through relationships we know and trust.
- A webinar with insights straight from the source. On 21 October, you meet representatives from government departments, the ecosystem and innovation organisations to gain insights into the market.
- Precision farming up close. A tour of the National Centre for Precision Farming at Harper Adams University, visits to test farms and British companies.
- British clusters and industry organisations: Meetings facilitated by Nordic Edge through our British network, including UK Agri-Tech Centre and BOFIN.
- New business models: An introduction to the British market for biodiversity and carbon credits. How are farmers paid for nature measures, and where does Norwegian technology fit in?
- A plan you can build on. Each company leaves with an action plan, and everyone receives Nordic Edge’s market report after the visit.
How it works
The programme includes a webinar on the UK market and what Norwegian companies looking to sell in the UK need to know, mapping and planning the visit, and activities in the Midlands, UK.

3 December
Visits to test farms or innovation organisations, company visits and a debrief where each company develops its action plan.

Programme in the Midlands, UK – 2 December
The programme is still being developed. Here is the provisional programme for the visit to the UK.
Industry networking at the UK Agri-Tech Centre
We join the Christmas networking event hosted by our partner, the UK Agri-Tech Centre, at its Midlands Hub. The companies in the delegation are introduced to the network ahead of the event, and there will be an opportunity to pitch your company during the event.
This event brings together the industry from across much of the UK. You can expect to meet agritech innovators, potential partners and others who can open doors in the UK.
Tour of Harper Adams University
Harper Adams is one of the UK’s leading centres for agricultural technology. The university is home to the National Centre for Precision Farming and its own centre for agricultural engineering innovation. In 2017, it grew and harvested the world’s first arable crop without anyone in the tractor seat or out in the field (Hands Free Hectare).
For a Norwegian agritech company, this is a place to find research partners, test sites on commercial farms and experts who know British agriculture well. Learn more about Harper Adams University here.
Nordic Business Mixer
In the evening, we invite you to the Nordic Business Mixer in Birmingham. You will meet potential customers, partners and investors, as well as people from the public sector. The evening is dedicated to networking and new connections.
Programme in the Midlands, UK – 3 December
The programme is still being developed.
Company visits
We are planning visits to a leading British innovation organisation or test farms.
Meetings
Meetings with relevant British companies and potential partners on their home ground.
Action plan
We hold a structured debrief and develop a plan for the way forward for each company.

What do previous participants say?
“Nordic Edge’s programme gave us crucial insights into the UK market and added so much value that I’m not sure we would have made the trip to Proptech Connect without it.”

Frequently asked questions
We have collected some frequently asked questions. If you have any other questions, please contact us. You will find our contact details below.
I’m not sure whether to join. Can I attend just the webinar?
Yes. If you are unsure whether the UK and this delegation programme are right for you, you can join the webinar on 21 October and decide afterwards.
Do I need to be a Nordic Edge member?
No, the programme is open to everyone, but members will be prioritised if it fills up.
Does Nordic Edge book meetings for us?
The programme is built around shared activities: industry networking, a networking evening and company visits. The whole delegation meets relevant British organisations and starts conversations there. Tell us who you would most like to meet, and we will take this into account when planning.
How much time should I set aside?
A one-hour online meeting on 21 October, a couple of hours of preparation and two days in the Midlands.
We don’t have any customers in the UK yet. Is it too early?
No. The programme is designed for companies considering the UK as their next market. The webinar on 21 October gives you insights into how the market works before you decide.
What should we prepare before the visit?
A short description of your solution, who you are, the types of organisations you want to meet and a presentation in English. Nordic Edge will compile a digital introduction to all the companies, which our local partners will use to recruit relevant people for our events.
Partners
The programme is being developed jointly by Nordic Edge, UK Agri-Tech Centre and AgriFoodTech Norway.
