Turning Ambition into Real Business Solutions

Last week, EDIH Oceanopolis Nordic Edge welcomed business leaders and professionals to Stavanger for an energising and highly practical workshop: AI and Agentic Development – Turning Ambition into Real Business Solutions.

The day began with futurist and technology expert Lars Rinnan’s keynote The World 2029, offering a thought-provoking perspective on how exponential AI is reshaping competitiveness, leadership and the speed of change. His message was clear: organisations that build AI competence and act now will be better positioned to succeed.

The workshop also featured a hands-on build session led by Appfarm together with Zebra Consulting and Veni. Using Appfarm’s visual AI platform, participants built their own AI-powered solutions through practical vibe coding—no programming experience required.

The room was filled with high energy and engagement. Participants experienced how practical work with AI builds competence and makes it easier to identify and realise new opportunities within their own organisations.

– Digital maturity is about moving from curiosity to action — by learning, testing and experiencing how new technologies create competitive advantage. Together with Appfarm, participants built their own AI solutions through hands-on vibe coding and experienced how practical work with AI builds competence and opens new opportunities within their own companies.

This is at the core of EDIH Oceanopolis’ mission: helping companies learn, test and adopt new technologies so that digital ambition is transformed into tangible competitive advantage, says Lisbeth Kjøpstad Sørgård, Project Manager, EDIH Oceanopolis Nordic Edge

The workshop concluded with a dynamic panel discussion moderated by Anita Skog, Innovation Strategist at Nordic Edge EDIH Oceanopolis, exploring one of the most important questions facing businesses today: What does it really take to turn digital ambition into competitive advantage?

The panel brought together:

  • Martin Grønnslett, Head of region North, The Norwegian Federation of Machine Contractors (MEF)

  • Egil Hollund, Communication manager, Stavanger Champer of commerce

  • Lars Rinnan, Professional keynote speaker, Futurist and Technology strategist

  • Guro Larssen, COO Zebra Consulting & Deputy Chair at TENK

  • Morten Goodwin, Ph.D. Professor UiA, Deputy Director at Centre for AI Research

The discussion reinforced a central insight: technology alone does not create results. Competitive advantage comes when companies combine strategic intent, practical experimentation and the willingness to build new capabilities.

At EDIH Oceanopolis, this is exactly what we help companies do. We help companies learn, test and adopt new technologies so that digital ambition is transformed into tangible competitive advantage. Through digital maturity assessments, hands-on experimentation and access to leading experts and test facilities, we support SMEs in exploring and implementing technologies such as AI, data and robotics.
