Gjermund Kvernmo Langset is the CEO of The North West. The North West is the arena for sustainable regional development. They build relations, increase knowledge, share experiences and challenge existing thruths, with the aim of stimulating both social and business development in accordance with the SDGs. Working closely with the U4SSC ip, they create meetingpoints across sectors, geography and nationalities.
Gjermund has a study background in Nautical Science and Management of Demanding Marine Operations.
Ole Helge Haugen is Head of sustainable development in Møre and Romsdal County
The initiator behind the pilot “Berekraftfylket” – using the U4SSC city KPI-set, mapping smaller rural municipalities.
Dr. Anne-Lise Sagen Major has 20 years of experience in research and innovation. The professional journey started within private business in Switzerland, continued through public specialist health services in Norway and postdoc research at NTNU. She is now future navigator at Ålesund municipality and member of the team at the Ålesund future lab – U4SSC. Through her different projects the focused has always been service design and digitalization.
Gro Hovde Fiksdahl, Senior Manager BDO, Strategy and Development, with main responsibility for sustainable business development in the SMB market. Leads several major sustainability projects regionally and locally, and project manager for internal sustainability process in BDO.
Dr. Annik Magerholm Fet is the Vice Rector of NTNU in Ålesund and a professor in Sustainability. Professor Fet leads several national and international research projects in capacity building in global production, environmental management, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and business models for sustainability. These projects operate in the junction between academia, industry and public authorities with the goal to move towards more systemic sustainable practices.
She has been the Norwegian observer in the UN International Resource Panel (UN IRP), and sits on the board of UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network Northern Europe (SDSN NE).
A champion for simulation and complex data visualization with a background as an Industrial Designer, Joel was born and educated in the UK and moved to Ålesund, Norway 12 years ago. He is passionate about using elegant technology and human centred design to reduce cost, find better solutions, increase safety and improve quality of life. After running successful businesses, 6 years ago he was asked to take over as the CEO of Offshore Simulator Centre (OSC). He transformed this business using simulation technology for the offshore oil industry as a key tool for Virtual prototyping.
Joel is passionate about proving the value in simulation and driving the exponential growth of simulation with OSC at the forefront. Only 6 Months ago as well as running OSC he started a daughter company “AugmentCity” using the simulation and visualizing technology developed for the offshore industry, and in tight cooperation with the United Nations smart cities program, as a game changing tool for Smart Cities. He is excited to see where this new journey will take us.
