Open Data Hackathon

Stavanger is the energy capital of Norway with its unique location close to ocean, mountains, and fjords. We face urban challenges to grow and remain sustainable and need your help in finding solution for continued growth. How can open date be the source to value creation?

Welcoem to this three day Open Data Hackathon, hosted in collaboration with Smart City Stavanger, Lyspæren, Stavanger AI Lab, Research Network for Smart Sustainable Cities and Future Energy Hub. Come together and solve problems as a team using the data presented to you. At the end of the Hackathon, a panel of judges will pick one project as the winner.

First of all, let’s see what a hackathon actually is:

It’s all about problem solving – a hackathon is any event of any duration where people come together to solve problems! The event is for the creative, employed, unemployed, students, entrepreneurs, scientists – pretty much anyone! We believe in multi-disciplinary teams to create solutions, which create value for citizens, public and private actors. Here everyone comes together to develop prototypes and innovative solution in a very short time.

A deep-dive into private and public open – source data.
We bring the data- do you have the solution?

We will organize a three-day Hackathon together with Smart City Stavanger, Lyspæren, Nordic Edge, Research Network for Smart Sustainable Cities and Future Energy Hub with the aim of turning open data into solutions with impact and value creation.

The data is given by the City of Stavanger, together with companies like Altibox, Lyse, Infotiles and Kolumbus. Using this data you can help solve relevant problems for Stavanger related to themes like energy, mobility, construction, water and climate and environment.

This is an unique arena for you to meet the City of Stavanger, other companies and to connect with students at the University of Stavanger. In diverse teams you get the chance to explore challenges and come up with new solutions.

The event requires registration! Sign up alone or as a team using the link on the left.
