Nordic cities and companies have developed through experimentation and strong public-private-people-partnership model solutions to issues like urban emissions, occupied urban space and winter sports venues. The key question to discover in this workshop is if and how these models can be scaled to the Chinese cities to solve challenges related to pollution, carbon emission and occupation of the urban space, especially to the “300 million People to Winter Sport” as a result of the Winter Olympic in Beijing in the coming year.

Sølve has focussed on international business development from The European Free Trade Association, to Rolls-Royce and Innovation Norway for over a decade. He’s now on a mission to grow the Norwegian smart society eco-system, and unlock value creating opportunities worldwide.
As head of Innovation Norway’s Hub for Smart Societies, he is working through a global team of smart city technology experts involved in cutting edge projects on all continents. Before joining Innovation Norway, Sølve helped Rolls-Royce Marine restructure the business for a sustainable future of connected smart ships and zero emission technology. Earlier, Sølve worked extensively with business and government relations in Europe through his work in the European Free Trade Association, where he funded development projects across several EU/EEA states.
Zhao Xin, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Architectural Design and Research Institute and Director of Green Design Research Center, the realization of green building needs the technical support of smart building.
A long-time architect, Maisey has experience of designing office buildings, health care
facilities, educational buildings, sports complexes and residential facilities and detailed
zoning plans in her project portfolio. With expertise in housing design, she ensures that
functionality, aesthetics and good social meeting places are catered for both residents
and the surrounding area.
Maisey’s involvement and expertise in environmental issues related to construction is
genuine, and she strives for good environmental solutions in all phases of her projects.
She has two years of experience from Ecoboks, where she was responsible for the
coursing of architects in new energy regulations, and is an accredited personnel (AP) in

Zhu Zongliang is Deputy Chief Architect for the China Railway fifth Survey and Design Institute Group Co. Ltd., the first-class registered architect of China. He also servse as the Director of Green Design committee of WGDO to promote the green development. He has been engaged in architectural design for 30 years and has presided over the design and completion of a large number of public and residential buildings, including complex buildings, hotels, office buildings, schools, residential apartments, railway stations, subway stations, etc. In recent years, he has concentrated on technological innovation, and has obtained successful design experience in the application of green ecological and low-carbon building technology, and walks in the forefront of the industry. For example: Beijing One (building height of 100 metres, 150,000 square metres), for the domestic early “five heng” building, the use of ceiling radiation cooling heating system, replacement type healthy fresh air system and more than a dozen innovative technologies, so that the project has become a high comfort, low energy consumption of constant temperature and humidity health technology residential model. The project has won the Sixth Jingrui Science and Technology Award and the China Low Carbon Livable Ecology Award issued by the National Science and Technology Award Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Gunnar Edwin Crawford is head of Stavanger Smart City, innovating across public-private boundaries, co-creating the smart city of the future.
Gunnar has extensive hands-on experience with innovation and development within the fields of welfare technology, smart homes and smart cities.
He is a patent holder, and winner of a CES Innovation award. He has contributed in several EU projects, including two Horizon 2020 projects – Triangulum (www.triangulum-project.eu) and Invade (http://h2020invade.eu/).
Crawford’s professional background is within ICT, energy and innovation. Gunnar is co-author of the book “Creating Disruptive Ecosystems” (2016 – http://www.disruptiveecosystems.com/ ), about the importance of understanding new digital business models when innovating digital systems and services.
Trond Thorbjørnsen is a Senior Business developer at the Innovation R&D department at Lyse, which is a regional multi utility company owned by 14 municipalities in the Stavanger region. Trond has long experience leading early stage technology and development projects at Lyse. Trond has extensive hands-on experience with innovation and development in welfare technology and smart homes as well as services on top of energy and smart city infrastructure. He has contributed in several EU projects, including two Horizon 2020 projects – Triangulum (www.triangulum-project.eu) and INVADE (http://h2020invade.eu/).

Trond is the inventor of “Badetassen” and the Light pole charging solution tested in the municipality of Stavanger.
Mobility and concept developer graduated from Norwegian Business School BI and the Royal Navy. Over 20 years of experience from marketing, advertising, media, sales, management, mobility, product and business development. The last five years co-creating award winning mobility solutions in Norway, and also co-founder of a soon-to-be-world-famous tech startup 😉 Defines himself as a flexilist; uses various mobility solutions, normally walking, city e-bike and trains, and have a Care by Volvo-membership.
Zhao Xiaohua, Ph.D., Professor of Beijing University of Technology, member of Vehicle User Characteristics Committee and Traffic Control Facilities Committee of National Transportation Research Association (TRB), and Chairman of Traffic Safety Analysis and Improvement Technical Committee (JT0502) of Traffic Safety and Environment Section of WTC of the World Transportation Congress. She is the Deputy leader of the expert group of the Motor Vehicle Driving Training Branch of China Road Transport Association, a member of the Editorial Committee of China Highway Journal and Traffic Information and Safety, a supervisor of Beijing Traffic Engineering Society, a director of the Traffic Engineering and Informatization Branch of China Highway Society, and a member of the expert committees of several academic groups. She has long been committed to the research on driving behavior and traffic safety, traffic information and control technology. At present, it mainly undertakes more than 70 projects, including more than 30 national, provincial and ministerial level projects such as National Science and Technology Support Program projects and National Natural Science Foundation of China.
