It was well said this morning when a representative from the City of Stavanger stated that it’s too late to turn around when it comes to taking action against climate change, we need to act now!

The City of Stavanger aims to become climate neutral by 2030, and to achieve this the municipality cannot do it all by themselves, it requires action from all sectors. As a nordic innovation cluster we have a responsibility to be smart with a heart, and help cities and members get further, faster, together.

Today, Terje Eide and the Mayor of Stavanger signed a letter of intent, whereby Nordic Edge will contribute to the City of Stavanger in becoming climate neutral as a part of the initiative.

«It is crucial that we, as a society, succeed in achieving our ambitious climate goals. The business sector plays a key role in the success of Mission Cities. Nordic Edge, both on its own, and together with our cluster members, will be a driving force in this effort. Praise goes to Mayor Sissel Knutsen Hegdal and Stavanger Municipality for taking the initiative and once again stands at the front to lead the way» – Terje Eide, CEO Nordic Edge

Nordic Edge will support Stavanger kommune with the following:

– As an innovation cluster with 200 member companies, our core mission is to help create smarter and more sustainable cities. Our primary contribution to achieving Stavanger´s climate goals is to enable our member companies to succeed in commercializing their solutions.

– As a part of this we will strengthen efforts to secure capital for green investments in our member companies

– Additionally, through our own activities and project collaboration such as the New European Bauhaus projects, we will increase our focus on choosing climate-friendly solutions for transport and material use Nordic Edge is fully committed to these actions and look forward to achieving these goals together.
