Yedlik builds an industry for maintaining e-bike batteries. Our challenge is to eliminate 500 tons of dangerous waste a year in Norway, and expand worldwide. Reuse and repair trumps recycling! Yedlik is on the way to have the best equipped battery repair lab on the country, and is aiming first at the 200 million kr a year market of e-bike battery repairs in Norway. But there is no reason to stop at the border, nor to refrain from moving into car batteries, boat batteries, aircraft batteries ++

Job title: Battery Repair Engineer
Application deadline: Application deadline has expired.
Job Position: Full time
Number of positions: 2
Repairs at Yedlik mean troubleshooting broken batteries in a well-equipped workshop. It is a true engineering task! It is never repetitive: if it is, you need to figure out how to automate or delegate. It is never frustrating: if it is, you need to find the right tool or methodology to do it better.
In this position, you will turn pieces of junk into desired objects on a daily basis. And save the environment. It is hard to overstate how satisfying this is. The only reason we let others work for us is that there are too many batteries to fix!
We can offer:
First week is unpaid training, then we will set up a salary scheme. We cannot beat market rates right in the beginning, but we are growing and both you and your compensation will grow with us.
We do a brainstorm-social-beers events at least every two weeks.
This position is ideal for someone with some background in electronics and engineering, and a drive for hand-on creative lab work. If you are in electrical or mechanical or mechatronics engineering, or spent your free time rebuilding bikes, scooters, drones.. this is probably the job for you. If you spent some time working for some engineering firm that made you sit all day in front of a computer, and you hated that part… this is probably the job for you! We don’t want you to write software. Really!
We expect to train you in battery repairs and the particular tools, but you should arrive with an engineering mindset and an understanding of circuit theory. Experience is nice to have, but it is curiosity and talent that is required.
Good English is required, Norwegian or Chinese is a plus.
